Approach to Therapy
Tabitha earned a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family therapy at Alliance Graduate School of Counseling (NYACK College). She is trained in marriage and family therapy, also CBT, solution-focused theory, structural theory, and attachment theory. Currently, she is training in AEDP, a trauma informed therapy. As she works from a systemic perspective, she takes into consideration the client’s context, family, work, social and faith, to assess their situation and collaborate to identify and accomplish therapeutic goals. She works with families, couples, and individuals of all ages. She enjoys working with couples and families to help them find ways to increase their communication and learn conflict/resolution skills. Her interests include working with Pre-marital couples, she is a certified Prepare/Enrich Relationship facilitator. She strives to provide a safe and collaborative therapeutic environment for her clients. Tabitha is able to conduct therapy in both English and Haitian Creole.
Tabitha is a member of the Outreach Ministry and teaches a children’s dance class at her local church. She hosts community events throughout the year and cares for the needs of the less fortunate in her community. It is with that same level of empathy that she strives to care for her clients in her role as a therapist.
